Common questions
Do I need a permit for electrical work?
In Massachusetts, anyone doing electrical work for hire has to file a permit with your town’s inspector of wires before the work starts or within five days of starting (M.G.L. c.143, §3L). It is fair to ask your electrician to show you the permit.
How do I check an electrician’s license?
Every Massachusetts electrician has to show the license type and number on their advertising. You can look any license up on the state’s license lookup. Wayne’s is MA Journeyman Electrician License #10080B.
